NEW “AG-ENERGY BUILDING”

In conjunction with, and functioning as a stop on the “Take the Tour” event, the McHenry County Fair is pleased to announce the NEW BUILDING “E”, renaming it as the “AG-ENERGY” Building. There is a natural link between McHenry County’s agricultural heritage, modern farming methods, small farm agriculture, recycling, and energy conservation.

Visit the education rich “AG-ENERGY” Building and see the history of agriculture in McHenry County, enjoy landscaping displays of “The Room in the Garden”, learn about biofuels, wind and solar power, recycling and water conservation, challenge a University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener with your most pressing gardening questions or attend one of their demonstrations, and maybe listen to a story or two (storytellers and times to be posted) about agriculture in McHenry County.

Building “E” will also house the Vegetable and Grain Show (Open and Jr.) as well as the Flower Show. Why not enter some of your garden’s best veggies, grains or flowers? Entries are due by July 17th (see the Fair Book on this website).

The “AG-ENERGY” building is located just east of the Main Fair Building “D” and south of “The Gardens”, currently under construction and located between building “E” and “F” (Home Arts and Photography).
